Another Album: Is that the answer? Most of the time....No.

If you were packing your car for a cross country trip that you felt you had to make.. whether it was a dream, a desire or a need, here is a question....If you bought a car, bought the supplies for the trip and then started out of ..lets say Boston and then you got as far as New York... Would you take the money you had saved for gas, hotels, food and the remainder of the trip and spend it on another car or if you were running out of money, instead of saving up for those gas, hotel, food and toll costs, would you put it toward a new car? Don't Waste time you don't have in the first place.

Are you wasting time? Yesterday I was told a story about an artist from a friend that said they have been working for weeks straight on the edit of a video they recorded years ago to make it pop and look cleaner. Now this video has very few views as is right now. It didn't help them years ago and an edit of it right now to make something that has already proved unsuccessful, to all the sudden work is a real long shot. Let's just say next to impossible. Indie Thursday Showcase

Indie_Thurs_showcaseThe HMMA is proud to present the Indie Thursday Showcase at the world-famous Renaissance Hollywood Hotel. This is one of the ONLY opportunities where independent music artists are hired to perform in a high-profile Hollywood venue. The HMMA is dedicated to providing money making opportunities for artists and this is one of the hottest opportunities in Los Angeles!

The Indie Thursday Showcase occurs the first Thursday of each month in the main lobby of the Renaissance Hollywood Hotel & Spa (1755 N. Highland Avenue, Hollywood, CA 90028) featuring music artists performing 20 minute sets from 7:30 PM to 10:30 PM. This unique and intimate event has become one of the hottest showcases in Hollywood because of the industry who attend and the potential paid gigs for artists.

At each showcase, a panel of industry and VIP panelists help select participating artists they feel should be hired by the hotel the following month. This is one of the only opportunities in Los Angeles where independent artists are paid to perform original music in a high-profile Hollywood landmark venue. Most music genres are considered including pop, folk, light rock, Americana, jazz, reggae, instrumental, R&B/soul, etc. Solos, duos, trios or acoustic ensembles with some light accompaniment (guitars, stand up bass, hand percussion, backing vocals, etc.) are booked.

The venue features a beautiful Yamaha baby grand piano and a excellent state-of-the-art sound system. There is never a cover charge, all ages are welcome and the food menu is wonderful. Seating is limited but there is plenty of space for the spill-over crowd.
