HMMA sponsors A Symphony of Hope
The HMMA is proud to have been a sponsor of this charity fundraising dinner with silent auction and world premiere concert held August 3rd at the open-air California Plaza in downtown Los Angeles. This event raised over $120,000 dollars for Hands Together, an organization in Haiti that develops educational programs, feeding programs and medical clinics. Over 250 guests attended the dinner and cocktail reception and several thousand guests attended the world premiere concert of A Symphony of Hope: The Haiti Project, an original concerto composed by twenty-five of Hollywood's leading composers based on a traditional Haitian folk song. Some of the participating composers are past HMMA nominees and/or award winners. Celebrity appearances included Erika Christensen of NBC’s hit series "Parenthood" who served as Master of Ceremony.
